Delray Beach

Hello Hello and welcome to the Delray Beach Chapter of the Women’s Wellness Society.

I am Stacey Joiner, your chapter leader. Here is a little bit about me; I am a New York and Florida State Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Integral Yoga Instructor. I have recently moved to South Florida from Manhattan . It was time for a new adventure and a life style change for my husband and I. We are newly married and come to South Florida for a fresh start, the beautiful beaches and an ease-full lifestyle.

I originally started my career in the garment center in New York , selling women’s apparel to major department stores around the country. During one of my business trips, a colleague convinced me to receive a massage. My first initial response was, “I don’t want anyone touching me.” Nevertheless, it turns out it was exactly what I needed. I was going through a rough patch, not realizing I was bottling up all my stress. The massage was the perfect remedy and also the catalyst for a complete life makeover.  After completing my rigorous studies and training, I started my own business.  The Royal Treatment which was located in Battery Park City in downtown Manhattan . I built up my clientele of business executives, celebrities, and over stressed New Yorkers.

Then the world stopped, September 11th, 2001. My business and home was directly across the street from the World Trade Center . On that day, my business and home were destroyed, the windows of my place where blown in and everything covered under several inches of ash. Fortunately, by the grace of God, I was at a networking meeting that morning.  Earlier that morning I walked through the World Trade Center to catch a train and headed to meet my networking group in  Greenwich Village . From there, I safely watched the events unfold. It took me about a week to get back to see the damage, all the while, feeling tremendously blessed I was spared. Receiving tremendous support from family, friends, clients and strangers, I was able to rebuild my business and my life, after a HARD couple of years.

During my recovery, I continued my Yoga practice and received weekly massages. That was my therapy, without my yoga and massages I do not think I would have come through."

As part of my rebuilding, I strongly felt the need to share the wonderful teachings of Yoga with others and traveled to Mexico for a month-long intensive training to be certified. It was an incredible experience to be immersed in the yogic life style. I felt amazing. I also had another surprise -- I met the man I would soon marry. We fell in love and he flew up to New York after the program. We were married on December 6, 2003, in the World Financial Center overlooking the World Trade Center site, during the first snowstorm of the season, surrounding by friends and family.

In the short time I have been in South Florida I have been blessed to have met some incredible women, most of which, have come through my first connection with Kellie Kuecha and the Women’s Wellness Society. I was so impressed with the society and eager to help spree the word, so I formed and direct the Delray Beach chapter of the WWS.

Through my contacts at the WWS, I have also become inspired to teach others how to create a healthy environment in their homes, by using non-toxic products. My mission is to guide others in creating a healthy environment. Using massage and Yoga for the inside and making comfortable changes in their outer environment to maximize total wellness.
